Megeve Mont-Blanc, the most beautiful race in the (French) Alps
On July the 31st, one of the most legendary races in the French Alps took place: the Megève Mont-Blanc. We travelled to the village of Megève in the Haute-Savoie region to take a look back at the course, which featured legendary roads and brought together almost a thousand cyclists. The weather was superb, with not a cloud in sight.
The last weekend of August was an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the Alps. And the least we can say is that the slope was steep, depending on the format chosen:
- 85 km with 2,128 m of elevation gain, an ideal route for discovering the mountain pastures and the Forclaz Pass.
- 85 km with 2,128 m of elevation gain, an ideal route for exploring the mountain pastures and the Col de la Forclaz.
- 105 km with 2,750 m of elevation gain, adding the climb from Albertville to Les Pointières and the Col des Saisies to the previous route.
- 135 km with 3,870 m of elevation gain, a real challenge incorporating the Col du Pré, the Cormet de Roselend, then the final climb to Les Saisies and the return to Megève.
With its spectacular scenery, legendary mountain passes and smiles at the finish line, this event once again showed that cycling is much more than just a sport: it is an experience, a collective spirit, a shared emotion.
Well done to everyone: participants, organizers (Megève Sports Club) and, above all, the volunteers who ensured safety and a great atmosphere at the refreshment stations.
La Manufacture Mercier was there as an official partner and created the event's collector's jersey.
See you next year for the 2026 edition to discover a new, equally challenging route in an exceptional atmosphere.
